workshops THEATRE WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN! 
The Saturday morning Theatre Workshops, presented at the National Children's Theatre (NCT), recreates the excitement of the real theatre world for its young participants. These workshops cover all the disciplines of the performing arts and include drama, creative movement, mime, improvisation, singing, and stage and TV techniques. Children get "hands on" experience participating in productions.
Multi award-winning Artistic Director of the NCT, Joyce Levinsohn, personally oversees these workshops, ensuring that the theatrical arts are vibrantly presented to the young workshop participants. In this, Joyce is ably assisted by highly experienced, dedicated and specialist teacher/actors who lead the different exciting programmes and she says: "Our training doesn't just help youngsters perform on stage. Once they gain the confidence to develop their communication skills and unleash their imaginations they perform better in life. We believe that children are our future: Teach them well and they will lead the way". NCT Theatre Workshop graduates include Candice Hillebrand (MNet presenter), Kamahelo Mbabatha (the KTV presenter who interviewed Nelson Mandela and Queen Elizaeth II at the 2 Oceans Concert in London), Candice Derman (star of Backstage), Tulla Eckhart (lead in The Secret Garden) and Bobo Seritsane (head of a singing group that represents SA at international music festivals). 
The NCT Theatre Workshops are designed for children between ages of 7 to 16 years and are presented on Saturday mornings during the school term. Times are from 09:30 to 12:00 noon.
