Back by public demand, 'The World of Beatrix Potter' will be brought to life at The National Children's Theatre (NCT) formerly The Johannesburg Youth Theatre (JYT) from 13 March, over the Easter School holidays. This delightful and joyous production includes the well loved stories of Peter Rabbit and Jemimah Puddleduck, Squirrel Nutkin, Jeremy Fisher and Tiggy Winkle. 'The World of Beatrix Potter' is filled with humour, laughter, adventure, excitement, colourful characters, marvellous puppets and all the magic that the NCT is known for in its creation of interactive children's theatre. This production will stimulate the audience to read more of the works of this celebrated author. This theatrical production is a treat for the whole family. Typically Victorian, Beatrix Potter was educated at home by a governess. Beatrix taught herself drawing and painting by watching her pets carefully and sketching them as realistically as she could. Family holidays in the country taught her to respect and understand the natural world. Over 40 million copies of The Tale of Peter Rabbit have been sold world wide in more than 35 languages.
