ARCHIVE Beauty & the Beast Following on the extremely successful season of "A Pocket Oliver Twist" and "Puss in Boots", the Johannesburg Youth Theatre, Parktown (JYT) is thrilled to stage their year end production of "Beauty & the Beast". The beloved classic, "Beauty & the Beast", is transformed for the stage into an enchanting play. It sings. It moves. It excites. But above all, there is the magic of Beauty's innocence and goodness, which sees beyond the ugliness of the "not frightening beast", to a man who can be loved for himself. Beauty's family provides an amusing background to the main plot. The audience sits enthralled as the story-line unfolds - page by page - before their eyes. "Beauty & the Beast" will capture everyone's imagination. With an innovative set, beautiful costumes, familiar songs, talented actors and a lively cast of children, this is a show not to be missed. Cast members include the well known Alby Michaels as Squire Gregory and Wynne, Riaan Norval as the Beast, the beautiful Natalie Hughes as Beauty, Danelle Drury as Iris and David Chevers as the Merchant. The children in the production are all sourced from the JYT's Saturday morning theatre workshops. JYT, well known for its creative, participative and colourful productions, once again presents superb entertainment, which will appeal to all ages and especially to the romantic at heart. This will be a most enchanting play for the Christmas Season. Book now! The production opens on Saturday 29th November and runs through to 20th December. Public Performance times are at 11:00 and 14:30 daily, Mondays to Saturdays with two additional evening performances on Saturday 6th and 20th December 2003 at 18:00. Ticket prices are R40 for adults and R30 for children. A lap fee of R10 will be charged for children between the ages of six months and two years.
